Many people have forgotten the incredible and amazing power of prayer, more and more I am encouraging people to pray, and we are seeing the beautiful results. 

What has became painfully apparent to me, is we have forgotten how to pray, so many times people will say; how do I do that? what do I say? what do I do? - beautiful, beautiful, beautiful ones, even the very intention to pray will bring you results. How brave and courageous you are even asking the very question. You are watched over and taken care of at every given moment. You are loved, you are loved, you are loved.

Here are a few simple little guidelines;

Create a little sacred space and say a dedication or invocation.
Take a small candle and as you light it say aloud,
"I dedicate this candle to peace and love ,and joy in my life today and so it is.  Thankyou ."
or you might like to dedicate it to others;
"I dedicate this candle to peace on the planet and laughter and joy to all those I love.  And so it is.  Thank you"
you get the idea, " I dedicate this candle to....and then say.... 

As you light your candle, and create your little sacred dedication , you are already lighting yourself up, you are declaring symbolically that you are creating something a bit special, a little bit of sacred space between you and the Divine, or you and your Divine self. - Good for you.

Next you could sit on the floor, infront of a small table, some people like to be crossed legged or on their knees, or just sit on a chair it does not matter.

You could place a photograph or picture on the table of any deity or angel you might like to pray to, or maybe place a few flowers as a little offering, or maybe just nothing at all, it does not matter.

And then you can begin..

call forth (say out loud) " I call upon......whoever you feel comfortable calling it could be God, Divine One, Holy Mother Father, The universe, Divine angels, your Soul ( I call upon my Soul) Mohammed, Kuan Yin, Amma, Mother Meera, Buddha, Allah, Goddess, Mother Earth, The angels who walk with you, Great Spirit etc.

You could say....

I sit as your Holy Child, I am here to ask for your help and love,

I ask for your healing light to be placed upon me,

I surrender myself to you,

I ask for you help,

I am stuck, Don't know what to do,

Don't know where to turn,

I need you,

Please help me,

Shower me with your love.....

and now either add your own bits,... just say what your problem is , what you need help with, or say what you are grateful for, and then say thank you and that's it.

Pray for other people,or a family member.
Please bring healing to name, he is suffering so much and I don't know what to do, I ask you to help him, bring to him what he needs, give him a holy hug....

Discovering ones Holy Purpose 
This is a question I am often asked about, so now you can pray for Direct guidance yourself!

Divine and holy one
Please reveal to me, my holy purpose,
Help me recognise the gifts I have been given to share with the world
Bring me a sign that will show me the way forward now, out of the darkness and into the Light
How can I be of service to others and thus to myself
What is your will for me?
I surrender to you,
Show me the way, show me the way.

Receiving Divine love and blessings
Beautiful Divine and Holy Mother ,
(add whoever you feel comfortable praying to God, Divine Mother, Jesus, Angels, The Universe, all that is).
May I be showered with your love and healing light and blessings,
May I be courageous enough to receive the Divine and holy light you pour upon me.
Heal this fear within me that makes me cower from your light,
lead me from darkness into light,
Help me embrace my true  light and my own true beingness,
For when I am mySelf I am happy and at peace,
I surrender to you the shadows within that are afraid of your love,
I offer them at your feet, and ask that you hold them in your arms with love and tenderness,
so that they may be healed in your light,
For when I am with you, I am safe, and I am healed,
I love you, I welcome your Divine sweet love,
I am yours....
and so it is.

It is written by a woman called Lynne Hybels taken from her book

May we be dangerous women.
May we be women who acknowledge our power to change, and grow and be radically alive for God.
May we be healers of wounds and righters of wrongs.
May we weep with those who weep and speak for those who cannot speak for themselves.
May we cherish children, embrace the elderly and empower the poor.
May we pray deeply and teach wisely.
May we be strong and gentle leaders.
May we sing songs of joy and talk down fear.
May we never hesitate to let passion push us, conviction compel us and righteous anger energize us.
May we bring love into all that is unjust and dark in the world.

Dear God
I feel my life is less than it should be.
I cannot find my freedom or my passion.
I have so much inside me that stays shut down, that isn't free.
I hurt so much to know I am not living at full force.
My talents are not used as I wish.
My abilities are not fully formed.
My energies are so suppressed.

Keep repeating these lovely words slowly and rythmically over and over  until the vibrations of peace are upon you.

When to Pray
Pray often, pray in the car, Pray in the bath, pray at home, pray with your friends (this is a wonderful way of connecting with others.  Why not set up a prayer circle)
Pray in bed, pray in the shower.......

Leave yourself little sticky notes to remind yourself. Stick on e on the car dash, one on the fridge.

Give everything up
There is a saying that only God/The Divine/The Mother heals .  We can only offer whatever our situation is that needs healing.
So bring your situation or difficulty and offer it to the Divine;

Prayer for help/support/understanding
say aloud if you can
"Divine One, Holy Mother etc, I have this situation (name) and I don't know what to do, show me what to do with it,
Show me why it is happening,
Show me what I am learning from it...."
Ask for the situation be blessed in light and love,
Ask to be shown how to handle it,
Ask to see it from the highest perspective,
...and so it is..

A lovely old classic.

Now I lay me down to sleep

Love be with me through the night
and keep me till the morning light
